14 more days, man i have the largest pit in my stomach in the history of Mankind.
I first joined this site when i was a sixteen year old kid talking about his "plans", and ya'll humored me and listened to them, and i thank all of you for that.
Then when i was seventeen all of you helped me figure out my asvab scores, and helped me through my asthma scare.
and now im about to actually do it, and i can't help but feel some loyalty to all of the people here and this site.
I leave the 22nd of this month, which means, God Willing, that i should come back a Marine in Mid September, and WHEN i do i promise to come back to ya'll and post or something. ill probably be online a bit during these last two weeks too.
OHHH YEEAAA, GOTTA LOVE THAT FEELING IN YOUR STOMACH

We are all so proud of you for the accomplishments you have already made! I, for one, will be shedding tears of joy as I read that first post from our new Marine. You keep that feeling in your stomach!! It will help you to keep your focus. You know it won't be easy, but hey, what in life worth doing IS easy. My anniversary is the 24th of Sept. How about a REALLY SWEEET gift? My friend successfully becoming a Marine would qualify. We will all be right here waiting. Hugs!

Woo Hoo!! That's awesome news! You will make one hell of a Marine, I'm sure of it. Try to have one of your family members or friends get your address to us and just maybe you'll receive some letters from your good friends here! We are very proud of you and how far you have come the past couple years. Throughout your days at boot camp, remember the end result ~ US MARINE! You can do it!

You can take down one of our addresses, give it to your family and ask them to send us your address when they get it. Then whoever gets it, can post it in the support section or PM it to whomever wants to write you! If its too much or you don't want letters, no problem. This is only if you want to hear from your buddies here and all the gossip we have going on while you're gone:D

Good Luck! I'm sure you'll do great. Just remeber, no matter how hard it gets there are people at home that are pulling for ya. When my boyfriend went throught his boot camp, he said knowing everyone at home wanted him to succeed made it easier a lot of the time.

I know for you it's been a long ride. Just do what you're told and study as hard as you can. Do the best you can also. The better you do all through boot camp will make you a better Marine. We have faith in you to do us proud. Let us hear from you as soon as possible.
We'll hold your place for you here. Good luck, Little Brother.

the best that i can tell ya is fear and anxiety is normal its like getting in a fight for the first time. its scary to think about it and the more you think the worse it gets. just push through it and jump in with both feet. its fast, frantic and before you know it its over. win or lose you got your feet wet and you learn its not as bad as your making it out to be.boot camp for me was more difficult mentally than physically. and that's the key your ass goes where the mind tells it to and when that shuts down the heart takes over and that's where there going to take you. how bad do you want it. that's what my D.I.'S wanted to know.you feel hot, you feel cold, you feel nervous and unsure. feelings never killed anyone but it is the difference between passing and failing.try not to stand out in first phase.listen to your pmi's in second phase, don't quit during third phase. keep your mouth shut and your ears open during all of it and you'll do fine lol. remember if you don't make it its because you quit. don't quit! ever! in the words of my D.I. "you'll pass out before you die" good luck.

Sounds like good advice, Billy. That would be what I would say also. Listen to what is being said and don't question it. There is a reason that they are training you that way. Don't worry about what you can't change. Give it 100% and you will make it through. And you will never regret the decision that you have already made.

Well you now just have a wakeup and then your journey.I have a few friends who are DI's at both PI and Diego so I know youll be in good hands.Dont speak unless spoken to,pay attention and dont volunteer for anything.

The time is finally here and you are within hours of leaving! Just remember that no matter how intimidating things may get, never give up! The DI's will be tough on you, that is their job and it's for the benefit of making you the Marine you will become! As tough as they are on you, it's nothing compared to what you may encounter from an insurgent and they only want you to be prepared. Your first phase will be particularly hard, as they will be tearing you down so they can build you back up. Keep your wits about you, hold onto the strength you have shown us all that you have and give it everything you've got! Be sure to stop in when you are done, so we can congratulate you! We are so very very proud of you and we know you will do well! And Thank You, for wanting to serve our Country! Be safe, Recruit, and good luck to you!

Don't forget, you do NOT have a drivers license. All you will get to drive is a broom or a swab. Recruits don't drive anything else!! I had to clean the scuttlebutt and the doorhandles. If there was time I could take a foxtail out and sweep the cracks in the sidewalk..... At least until the asvab results came back......It seems they don't take kindly to them making incorrect assumptions about recruits..... LOL It was worth it though! No matter what I got to do after that!!!!
