This guy can't even hide the fact that he is in the back pocket of Middle Eastern Oil. He is in favor of selling key ports to a United Arab Emirates company for them to run inside the United States!!!

From CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/02/21/port.security/index.html)

When I read that, it totally proved it to me. I do NOT like it.

To me, that is asking for the people that are profiled as terrorists to come work here. Heck we will sponsor you to come here and work, and give you the legal docs to get here. Then you can blow us up from the inside. Who needs McVeigh types? We will just import them.

Well, you and I aren't the only ones that feel this way....

I don't get it, either. Supposedly all the Security is still by the HSD. We shall see. We can't even keep Cubans from defecting to Florida on cardboard boats...

There was some discussion of this on the radio today and when first heard it on the news last night I was like you are kidding right. But on the radio today they had some political analyis saying that currently our ports are in the care of a British Company and not controlled by the US. All of the workers at the ports are however Americans. Suposebly this is not going to change all workers will still have their jobs and do what they do now only the company that was put in charge will change hands from Britian. I dunno why we just can control our own ports why does everything have to be done through privitization. I am in an international Bus class right now so we discussed these types of things. I say keep all of our jobs local and stop supporting terrorist countries.

Well, Amy, I am sure a million and one Americans will say close the borders, and promote from within. You don't honestly think either will happen do you? We are the Melting pot of the world. We let just about everyone in, that is how the nation was born, right? My personal feelings are of the millions. I am also pretty real on these things. It isn't going to happen, because it is cheaper to outsource it. It is all about the money. U2 has a line in one of thier songs-"Gold is the reason, for the wars we wage" It is all about the money.

The difference between the British running these ports and Dubai, UAE is that Great Britain is a direct ally of ours and Dubai's banks have been tied to funding of 9/11 and when we ask to find out where the funding comes from, they aren't very cooperative.

CLOSE THE BORDERS!!!!

LMAO!!!

Problem with that is Dubai is a major staging place for us in all of our Middle East activities. And the UAE is a big oil contributor, right?

I dont want to close the borders, after all that is how my husband ended up here. I believe in legal immigration. I just hate when you call your credit card company and they route you overseas some where. And when it comes to things that involve security I think we need to do it ourselves who cares more about our own security than we do. I wonder what will change if the people working the ports will get to keep their job or not.

I think they are hoping if they put it off a little while then it will die down and then they can proceed. Who knows what is going to happen.

I think it is for show only. Oh, the citizens are upset. Let's "look into" it for a bit. That deal is already a done deal. Do they think we don't know that?

It sure seems that way doesn't it? Lord forbid that Congress or the President would ever choose what the american people want over economic benefit. It'll get worse before it gets better too

Thank god!

that would have been the last thing we needed and before long we would of had navy ships crashing into our own land and hitting our own ships.

That would have been very bad!
