So, as it goes, we re-visit a far corner of the earth.
NOBODY wants to go here, and thats the reason so many are stuck there. A destination rivaled only by the twilight zone or the outer limits.
It's always dark, cold, and miserable.
You get no close air support, nobody humps in ammo.
Really scarry place, I should know.
I have some loved ones there.
Pop a smoke and theres no roar of angles descending from heaven with an outstretched hand, rotor wash on your tired a$$, a welcom fan.
Your alone. Get used to it?
It kills marraiges.
Distances loved ones.
Eventually it kills you, BUT only after destroying everything near and dear to you.
You are not listed as a casualty of some "conflict".
Instead you you died of _________. Fill in the blank.
Hope will be one of the last things it strips from you, your own sister cant even understand you anymore, your just a "drunk worthless peice of crap" that tried to get home.
You see flag draped caskets and watch in envy.
At least they got to come home.
You see "Support your troops" ribbons, and wonder why you cant get out of yourself and find the support they splay on their bumper.
