Tomorrow is the Illinois primary elections. In the primaries, you have to declare your party affiliations (while in the general elections, it is not necessary). This year's elections includes the governorship and I am going to have to take the democratic ballot for one very big reason. I am sure that Mr. Blagojevich will win his primary but he won't be getting his vote from me. I voted for this guy in 2002 and quickly realized he was the wrong guy for the job.
He refuses to sit in the states capital opting instead to use his office in Chicago. Afterall, what's good for Chicago, will certainly be great for Illinois! He is a Chicagoan and has a lot of Chicago interests on his agenda but Chicago isn't the entire state of Illinois. He doesn't seem to have his finger on the pulse of what is in the best interests of Illinois. I assume he might be a great mayor a alderman in Chicago but he has obviously disrespected the residents of Illinois by not being near the lawmakers of the state and knowing what is going on across the state. I am sure he will get the nomination for the fall but in the fall, I will probably be voting for a Republican governor (come on Judy Baar Topinka!).
