After 24 years of sreving the people of this State of Illinois, This Gongressman ,and Former United States Marine. Lane Evans is retiring from the 17 Congressional Distric. Not because he wants to but due to the monster that is tearing at his body. That monster is called Parkinson's disease, which he has been battling for several years, but now it has got to the point where he can no longer fight the fight. and do his job for the people and for the Vet's, and he did fight for all the Vets.
Gongressman Evans was the head of the Veterans Commitie in Congress.
In his letter of resignation his final words were SEMPER-FI.

It's too bad hearing about Evans... He was one politician I did not mind voting for. Someone that tried to keep their integrity while still helping the people of this state. Let's hope that we can get a good replacement, but who knows?

So sad some of the diseases that people have to deal with when they get older. It sounds as though he gave a good fight while he was able to.

Sad to hear about a Marine, or anyone, that has dedicated their entire life to the public, getting sick like that. Semper Fi, Congressman.
