MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 09:21
Dare I ask what you are referring to, Amy?
jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 09:22
It is a game kinda like horseshoes I am assuming you dont have it in your area either.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 09:23
Sure we don't. Who would name a game after the slang term for butthole?
CplCJ
April 7th, 2006, 09:23
Nope. The only use I ever heard that for belongs in an adult forum.

Must be an OH KY thing to call it cornhole it is actually quite fun and because I was a softball pitcher I am pretty good at it. People decorate their boards all different ways.
jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 09:27
Cool score card system we dont have that we just get drunk and try to remember who has what points or start all over again.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 09:48
Oh well the Ohio-Kentucky thing explains it all. Did it used to be called Kissing Cousins, or was it always called Cornhole?
CplCJ
April 7th, 2006, 09:49
I thought it was the Sister/Cousin all the Same Game???
jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 09:50
Hey now you are our neighbor as well so the same could be said for your state. And FYI I have never dated even a 3rd or 4th removed cousin.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 09:50
Any relation in sequential order will do.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 09:51
Hey now you are our neighbor as well so the same could be said for your state. And FYI I have never dated even a 3rd or 4th removed cousin.
Didn't you hear? We put up a fence...
jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 09:53
Good we didnt want you all hear anyways!!!
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 09:55
Spell check!!! And we didn't want to either...:p
CplCJ
April 7th, 2006, 09:55
So this bean bag throwing, horseshoe like, kissing your cousin game is played how?
CplCJ
April 7th, 2006, 09:56
Spell check would not catch that, Alex.
jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 09:58
The boards are place so far apart not sure the ruling we have strings attached to ours that show us how far apart they should be then each person has four bags filled with corn kernals if your bag lands on the board you get 1 point if it goes in the hole you get 3 points 1st team to 21 wins. And of course the points cancel each other out if you both land on the board.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 09:59
If it originated with the owner it would. And I think you'll have to ask the Master Cornholer about that one.
jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 10:00
I dont need to know how to spell all I need to know is how to count money!!!
CplCJ
April 7th, 2006, 10:01
Challenges would have to go to the Cornhole Consortium for review, and there would have to be a TV Timeout.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 10:02
I wonder what the cornholers would be doing over their break.
CplCJ
April 7th, 2006, 10:03
I bet moonshine might have a place there.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 10:04
And Lord knows what else
jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 10:06
Actually we just fight the challenges out with our fist. I am in the country you know. Cornhole can be a physical game you know???
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 10:08
Just one fist? And I always considered cornhole pretty physical...
CplCJ
April 7th, 2006, 10:12
Fists, coke bottles, tropical fruit...
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 10:12
Just when I thought it was turning nasty..
jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 10:14

CplCJ
April 7th, 2006, 10:14

MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 10:15

CplCJ
April 7th, 2006, 10:16
I actually want to know how the Yard game is played. No gutter now.
jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 10:17

jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 10:17

CplCJ
April 7th, 2006, 10:18

MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 10:19

jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 10:21

jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 10:21
They have summer leagues and torneys all over the place around here.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 10:22
Of course not. Our minds were in the gutter.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 10:22
There are Leagues? This is serious business.
jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 10:27
Absolutely, people even play indoors during the winter.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 10:28
You guys are silly. Beanbag throwing indoors?
jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 10:39
It is not bean bags but corn bags. Duh hence the name corn hole.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 10:40
Cornbags huh? What a difference from beanbags...
jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 10:42
One has beans one has corn big difference corn bags are much bigger than bean bags.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 10:44
Yes, because corn is so much smaller than an average bean right? Makes perfect sense.
CplCJ
April 7th, 2006, 10:45
It is not bean bags but corn bags. Duh hence the name corn hole. What's in a name? You are a bean counter, but you don't count beans. Or corn.
jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 10:47
Now you had to go and bring my occupation into it. I am definetly not the A typical accountant for sure.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 10:49
A bean counter that throws corn. Definitely not typical.

CplCJ

MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 11:20

jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 12:57
How am I a liar.
MadMax
April 7th, 2006, 13:20

jarvisa
April 7th, 2006, 13:31

CplCJ
April 7th, 2006, 13:34

official rules and all that.
Official Standards and Rules for the game of Cornhole
1 The Boxes
1.1 The box shall be in surface, rectangular, 4 feet in length and 2 feet in width. It shall be supported so that its upper surface, termed the playing surface, shall lie on a sloped plane with the back side held 12” above the ground and the front side held 3” above the ground. 1.2 It shall be made of any material and shall yield a maximum deformation of 1/64” when 8 bags are stacked and placed on the playing surface. 1.3 There shall be a 6” hole, centered 9” from the back and 12” from either side.
http://www.cornholegame.org/images/rules2.jpg
2 The Bags
2.1 There shall be 8 bags, 4 of one color and 4 of another color.
2.2 Each bag shall be a finished size of 6” by 6” and weigh 1 pound. 2.3 The bags shall be filled with any material that yields 1 pound at a volume of 2.25 cups.
2.4 A bag shall be made of a material such that when it is placed on the playing surface, which has its back raised to two feet above the ground, it does not slide off the ramp, and does slide off the ramp when the back is raised to 2’ 6”.
3 The Setup
3.1 Two boxes shall be set up such that their fronts face each other and their hole centers are 30 feet apart.
3.2 There exists an imaginary line that continues in either direction from the front of the playing surface, termed the foot foul line.
http://www.cornholegame.org/images/rules3.jpg
4 Game Play
4.1 Two teams of two people, termed partners, shall play. Partners shall stand at opposite boxes on the same side, from the perspective of a third person, and face each other, so there is no advantage given to one team.
4.2 Each team shall have 4 bags of one color.
4.3 All 8 bags begin at one end.
4.4 A coin flip shall determine who has honors in round one.
4.5 One of the partners on the team who has honors shall begin play by throwing a bag at the opposite box.
4.6 A player may throw from anywhere behind the foot foul line.
4.7 Game continues by alternating throws between the two opponent players until all 8 bags have been thrown.
4.8 If a bag hits the ground then bounces up onto the board, that bag shall be taken off the playing surface.
4.9 Refer to section 6 for scoring and honors.
4.10 The next round starts when the other player on the team, which has honors, throws their first bag.
4.11 The game continues until one team reaches 21 or more points.
5 Fouls
5.1 A foul occurs when any of the following happens.
5.1.1 A players foot goes past the foot foul line, termed a foot foul.
5.1.2 A player goes out of turn.
The player who caused the foul loses the throw when the foul occurred and the bag shall be removed if it landed on the playing surface.
6 Scoring
6.1 The score shall be taken after all bags have been thrown for a round.
6.2 Points shall be given as follows.
6.2.1 Three points for a bag that goes through the hole.
6.2.2 One point for a bag that is on the playing surface.
6.2.3 One point for a bag that is hanging into the hole.
6.2.4 One point for a bag that is hanging off the edge but not touching the ground.
6.2.5 Zero points for a bag that is on the playing surface, but also touching the ground.
6.2.6 Zero points for a bag that is hanging off the front edge and is resting on a bag that is on the ground, unless the bag on the ground can be removed without making the hanging bag fall to the ground, then one point is given.
6.3 Each team is given a round score according to section 6.2. The team with the highest round score, adds the difference of the two scores to their game score.
6.4 The team who wins the round is given honors to throw first in the next round.
6.5 If both teams have the same round score then the game score stays the same and honors stays with the team who had it the previous round.
6.6 The following is a possible scoring turn:
1st throw: Team A throws and it lands on the ramp, team B throws and it goes through the hole.
2nd throw: A goes through hole, B lands on ramp.
3rd throw: A lands on ramp knocking team B’s 2nd throw into hole, B lands on the ground. 4th throw: A lands on ramp, B lands on ramp knocking A’s 1st throw onto ground. A gets 5 pts and B gets 7 for the round, so B adds
7-5 = 2 pts to their game score and has honors for the next round.
