Short and sweet: Goodbye dumb blonde...

Bottom 3...
Kellie - Bad that she did little to make her performance better or cheerlead herself when the judges were criticizing.
Elliot - Just because I have never liked the guy. One of these days he will go.
Ace - Another that needs to go just because he gets on my nerves. If I hear one more time about his falsetto, I am going to throw rocks at my tv.
The show was boring for the most part and the songs just weren't interesting to me. A wasted of an hour of my life. Hopefully they will pick it up a little next week.

I was thinking change Elliott to Paris...It sounded to me that she was trying to sing like someone else. I am actually starting to be able to handle Elliott, as long as he doesn't do that hip hop slapping his chest thing. Ace is almost always in my bottom three. Kellie will go tonight because she even said herself she sucked.

I think they stsart the 2 a days now. That means no more theme nights, users choice for two songs. I can hardly wait for rod Stewart's performance tonight!

I'm SO glad that was a green comment, CJ. And I'll be starting the show up too. I watch the end like Amy does.

Hey Alex this is kind of like a reality show you better be careful.
MadMax
April 19th, 2006, 12:26
This is nothing like a reality show because this one requires that those involved have talent.
jarvisa
April 19th, 2006, 12:30
Well not at the beginning there are some really bad auditions.
MadMax
April 19th, 2006, 12:34
But they start getting to the talented ones. That's why I don't watch the beginning. They all sound like me singing. Not good.

Well, that answers my question about last night. I had a meld down with the kids and missed almost the entire night of TV.

I just watched for the 1st time last night and I thought Ace had the look and really wasnt that bad. Who is your guys pick to win the whole thing?
CplCJ
April 20th, 2006, 07:57
I am picking Chris to win it all, with Katherine McPhee as the runner up. I am guessing Chris' song choice was not taken well, to give him the second lowest. Next week is love songs. Anxious to see what comes out of Taylor's mouth! And Paris , at 17, knows soooo much about love...

It wasnt a Rod song it was "The way you look tonight" more of a classic than a Rod song.

You dont like Taylor??? Rod Stewart did good last night..... but maybe I just like that song.I do like Taylor in a musical talent way.(Protection statement...) I meant what "love" song is he going to sing. Does Sam Cooke have any love songs? He does Cooke well. The songs that everyone sang were not Rod Stewart songs, but songs he covered. His last 4 albums were all cover songs.

CJ,
Are you talking about THE Sam Cooke? In which case, he has a ton. As well as spiritual songs...

CJ,
Are you talking about THE Sam Cooke? In which case, he has a ton. As well as spiritual songs...That would be the one. Taylor Hicks is a huge Sam Cooke fan.

Do you listen to John Mellencamp, Amy? He even sings about Sam Cooke.
jarvisa
April 20th, 2006, 11:18

April 20th, 2006, 11:20

Sam is out of all our generations. He was a soul singer that has a lot of remade songs. He sang Working on the Chain Gang.

I do not like their theme weeks this year for some reason. However, as I thought about, what else could they really sing? Public domain songs (Star Spangled Banner)...that's it...a Star Spangled Banner night where each contestant comes out and sings the SSB making it "their own"....
*LOL*
MadMax
April 20th, 2006, 12:50
I can't stand it either, but I guess there's not other way to stretch it for them. Otherwise they'd be singing the same stuff over and over.

Great Idea.
But I hate it when people butcher the SSB!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't watch that episode. The'd probably have some bastard taking liberties with the words and I'd have to snipe him.
