Ok here is the deal, before I shell out the money for this script, I want to know if y'all would like to have a newsletter e-mailed to you (you can always change to not receive it) that will show the latest threads, polls, events, etc... in it.

Basically I want to make sure this is something y'all would like to see before I shell out the money to buy it.

not saying its a bad idea but for people like me who are on here on a regular basis it would be pointless I think

I agree, I am just thinking about the inactive users. I think it may get them to participate more and remind them that they are registered as well :)

Hey Bridget,

I would like to receive it. I could get it on the site for the guys to see, and maybe I could get some to move in here. TacoBell has already made the move, but he is still active duty, and does not get on allot. Maybe I can get some of the old-timers on with us.

Thanks,

Yea next time you talk to tacobell tell him that my husband knows him. He use to serve with him at VMGR 234. He was with 234 from 99-04.

Will do Bridget,

He just went on a ride I think with his bike group. I will shoot him an email and have him get with you here.

Thanks,

VMGR 234 was the whole reason I started USMC Hangout to begin with! LOL! When he signed up I saw VMGR 234 and was like OMG! I started screaming for Derek. He came in all panicked thinking something was wrong. LOL. Sometimes I like doing that.

I think you and Dereck just became the lead in my next nesletter. I will get with you in an email to the webmaster address here. Sounds like you guys might just be the ticket I'm looking for.

234 has a sparse history. Hard to get good intel on the unit now. I was in Ft. Worth, and had a chance to grasb a couple of the RO/LO's from the wing, but could not get it done.

Thanks Again Bridget,

Small world, isn't it .... 2 of my sons will be with FW JRB - one of them is/will be an in-flight refueler/radio operator/loadmaster (on C130s). He's got 6 more months of training at LR AFB and then I think another month at least in NC before finishing his training though.

No thanks.

I have trouble reading all the email and posts that I get now. I am here often enough to see what is going on.

You know, I initially voted for the newsletter but as I re-read the original post, I wouldn't put any money out for that unless you are planning to add different content to newsletter that isn't included on the website.

I'm on here often as well, so I would opt for not getting one.

I also voted yes initially, but now would like the "opt-out" option. I am usually on quite frequently.
Thanks

Its the same one you use to send out. But they went commercial so gotta pay to get it now.

We already have another monthly newsletter (that hasn't been sent out in 6 months, hey I have been busy) that goes out with different stuff in it.

everyone wants to make a buck these days I guess. Free is one thing...paying for it is another.

Awesome, check out my site, www.kc130.com . He can join as you can to. You could look around at the actual planes he will be on.

Definately. It would be a great way to keep tabs on what is happening here when you don't have the time to actually go through the site.

I belong to another website that puts out a newsletter, and it is pretty cool. They include articles and pieces written by the users, including things like who among the group is leaving for boot camp, etc. But the way they do it is this: someone with admin priviledges makes it on her own and sends it via mass email to the emails given when the users register, so it is free for them. I think an office 07 suite was given to the person that does it so she can put it all together on her own time, but that is all. And that cost could even have been avoided by finding a volunteer with the necessary software. Just food for thought.
