"I think the national anthem ought to be sung in English, and I think people who want to be a citizen of this country ought to learn English and they ought to learn to sing the national anthem in English."

Absolutely. I'm about sick to death of things getting changed around to accomodate guests in this country. :mad:I am not against immigration, but done the right way. But to sing our National Anthem in other languages is absolutely wrong. It is OUR National Anthem.

Yes, I didn't mean to come across as anti-immigration. I still belive in the "give me tired and weak" just not the "give me those that refuse to change to embrace my new country."

That's what I thought. Just didn't want to come across as a racist. From what I can tell, you are far from racist. You are, however, openly Patriotic. Sing the American National Anthem in English! Its a no brainer.

My feelings precisely. My son is going to a Christian Academy next year, and he will be able to do all that again in the class room.
CplCJ
May 1st, 2006, 10:12

MadMax
May 1st, 2006, 10:16

He is supporting your decision to send your kid to the Christian school, where he will be allowed to sing the national anthem and do it in English.

I will never support him. I was very surprised that he would take that stance though. I guess there are advantages to being a President where you have no risk for you actions or words.
But you can't disagree with everything a person says no matter how much you like him. The bastardized version of the National Athem should be burned and buried.

Well at least the sky hasn't fallen. I thought that Steve was becomming a fan...
