I need some input from a teachers point of view on the following item found on the internet. NO the video is no longer available :(

Teacher not hot for Web video

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (UPI) -- A North Carolina teacher has become the unwilling star of a steamy Internet video shot at a fifth-grade graduation ceremony.

The 3 1/2-minute amateur video features close-ups of teacher Keri McIntyre's face and, ahem, backside set to the Van Halen classic "Hot for Teacher." "Good Morning America Weekend Edition" reported.

"When I saw it I was furious," McIntyre told the news program Sunday.

McIntyre found out about the video when a former student teacher called to say it was posted on YouTube. She then demanded the site pull the clip, but about 200,000 people had already viewed it, the network said.

After YouTube took the clip off its site, the video popped up on the social networking site MySpace.

The teacher is looking for the person responsible for the video, but all of the growing number of private citizens who are accidental Web stars have limited privacy rights when it comes to the Internet.

I bet I'm in a WHOLE LOT OF DOO-DOO, aint I ?

Its just wierd news from the internet-and yet somewhat educational too-always be aware of your surroundings, no matter how harmless it is, you never know what who is doing-a lesson someone learned the hard way and we should put that on our "Note to self" thingy.

Dont beat me with a ruler Mary, please? My knuckles are whooped enough!!

The last time my brothers and sisters were all home at the same time, we had a big get together at my parents house. This was quite a few years ago. My Uncle asked one of his buddies to video tape for us, so that we were all free to enjoy seeing each other and catching up. Well, when we went to watch that video, most of it was of my sister's and my @ss. There was maybe, 20 minutes of a 2 hr video, that was actually of all of my family. The friggin guy was a creep, to say the least! Ever since then, you can bet I'm aware of my surroundings!

Yes I am a teacher, I teach Biology to freshmen college students.

I am not really sure how the video goes but following from what I have read, it is pretty obvious, now all I can say... is being a teacher, you just can fool around. Be discreet. You are always expected to be one.

One of my older sisters is a Doctor of English Literature and teaches at a local college here. She's often talked about her pre-classroom "checks" which include bending over in front of the mirror to see if she can see down her shirt, sitting when in a blouse to see if the material 'bunches' open around the buttons allowing "peek-a-boos" ... etc. She said that she is amazed at how many teachers do NOT do these sorts of things and learns by looking at them and how they dress.

But what chaps my a$$ about this article above is this whole YouTube crap! I hate that anyone's privacy can be stolen like this and parlayed into something that they cannot hold someone liable for. Quite frankly I do not like the cell phones with picture capabilities. Once you step out of your house you take the risk of having your image captured by some pervert who will use it to take 'up skirt' pictures, etc. You couldn't do that so easily with regular cameras. It's a sad state of affairs when common decency and gentlemanly ways are becoming extinct! Just today on the way into work I heard about Caroll High School's Football Team who posied for thier team picture doing the "shocker" hand gesture. Okay I'll plead ignorance, so when I got here I popped that into google and learned about the one in the pink and one in the stink sign. Great .... what a bunch of fine young men! Doesn't anyone raise their sons to be gentleman anymore? There are jokes, then there are times you refrain and hold yourself more accountable for being respectable, and that includes this story up above as well. Respect people and their privacy.

Just my old fashioned :2cents:!

I believe you have suffered from a chunk of "righteous indignation".

Point- hitch yer britches up,(plumber pants ya know) dont get yer self on the skyline, and sue the bastard that does incroach on your happy life.
If you cant make blood run, at least make money run.
Your NOT old fashioned-since when was "common sence and morals" out of date? Hey HMC, look down toward your waist band on yer undies and read me that "best if used by_____" date- GOT YA.Your on UTube, even good enough for Metacafe.

You all will understand someday why my grammer-gremmaer- grammar- that stuff, suffers and so does my speling suffer so much- my English teacher did NOT take the time to groom and check shirts before clkass, instead she would come in and scare us boys right out of puberty. Some things CANNOT be posted on those sites without charges of animal cruilty being filed.

It's todays society though, and unfortunately we allow it. We are to worried about disciplining for fear we might hurt the aggressors feelings. The things is though the aggressor could give two shits about your feelings. We were talking about this last night. My sisters kids are F'n horrible, she doesn't discipline, they are rude, crude and way out of line, where on the other hand I'm not afraid to smack my daughter in the mouth if she talks back or even uses a word that comes close to a swear. Now I ust admit I swear ALOT, and although I'm sure my two older kids use some choice words, the will absolutly not use them in front of me or my wife or any other adult for that matter. We show our kids all the love in the world, but they also fear the unknown discipline that's around the corner if they step out of line.

The botom line is until we hold people accountable for thier actions, then they will continue to act out.

I'm sure we all have skelotons in our closet, we all can't be perfect everyday, all of our lives. Thier were times when this teacher may have been in college when she pulled this off, who knows, people need to have fun, and if her dancing provoatively was her way, so what, doesn't mean she can't be a great teacher, it means she's human. The asshole is the person who put this out there. But if you take the chance to get video taped you risk being subjected to this.

What chaps my ass about this thing is that the teacher isn't one I would put to the music of Hot for Teacher. There are much better looking teachers out there that would fill the bill than her.

Some times peoples 15 minutes of fame isn't exactly what they were looking for. I think that after a moderate amount of protest the teacher should be covered for the school board but you never know.
