A very great, detailed book of how Fallujah was taken over by the Marines. It kicks off like a football game, opening with the mutilation of 4 military contractors, step by step. The beginning chapters tell you who's who, on the our side and theirs.
Only after you read about the local Sheiks and city council of Fallujah and citys surrounding it does the ass kicking begin. Vivid, bloody battles take place, with brilliant squad tactics the Military nor the History Channel would never delve so deeply into.
"No True Glory- A frontline account of the battle for Fallujah" is a must read by all.
Thanks :)

I'll have to read that one..I checked it out along with a bunch of other Marine reads and never got to it. If you like that one, though, you should read "We Were One" by Patrick K. O'Donnell if you havent already. I really love that book.

Lol sorry, I meant I have it and it was a great read. Pick up "shooter", the story of a Marine Sniper in Iraq.

Oh and "House to House". It's about Army grunts in the sand box as well. Both great.

The Best Marine book I've picked up so far is "One Bullet Away". It's about a grunt officer in Afghanistan, then he goes recon.

Starship Troopers is one of the BEST books I ever read that was on the Comandants Reading List. I was sickened when they made the movie. For those that have never read it it is a MUST READ.

I have not read any of these books. Partly becasue I fall asleep when I read, and partly because I have no miliotary books in my house on request of my wife.
