So many people now days say we are over there for oil. I think they are F.O.S. If this statment is true find me prrof we are moving oil from Iraq to the U.S.. I am just sick and tired of people lying to appose this war. I say support the fine men and women over there doing what they do best. Protecting America! So what do you think of these aligations about oil being moved from Iraq to the U.S.

There are also plenty that would challenge you to prove it is not for that reason. What do you have to back you that it is not for oil? Playing the advocate here...

Well for starters if the Coalition is there for Oil then why the hell are Gas prices still so high?

Welcome to politics. There is a good chance that the oil industry is doing so well because we were led into a war by a president with deep roots in the oil industry. When he came into office, a barrel of oil was selling for $17/barrel. Today, a barrel of oil is coming in at nearly $90/barrel. Someone is making a profit on that right? Doesn't it stand to reason that it doesn't cost an oil producer 500% more to make a barrel of oil today than it did 7-8 years ago?
We technically control the 2nd largest oil supply in the world in Iraq, yet we aren't benefiting from any of it....or are we? Are the oil companies actually benefiting from the high oil prices? Probably. But what about you and I? Probably not. Oil has a very invested interest in our everyday lives. Everything we do is based off an oil field somewhere. Even in the market of alternative energy.
If we aren't there to benefit from the oil in Iraq, where will the US recoup the $12 billion/month we spend there?

Who cares why we are fighting this war ... I just wish I was there, and I'm too damn old to get back in the Corps! I've sent a resume to Blackwater and they haven't responded yet. Any suggestions as to how I can get there with a decent, squared away group?

I wish ppl would get together like in ww2 everyone pretty much supported the war and helped as much as they could
i feel that if everyone would quit +++++in and suck it up and put more effort towards the war we would be outta there alot faster than without the effort

A more recent speech by our current President would include 20 sentences with the word terrorist(s), several to al Qaeda, a few bin Ladens, reference to National Security, throw in a WTC and 9/11 and he gets more support for the war.

Although the myth is that we lost the Vietnam War, we know that the '68 Tet was decisive, militarily, in our favor. Cronkite, as famous and well thought of as he was, without a military perspective just got it flat wrong, and the political tide turned. They beat us strategically, in public opinion, not militarily.
Same thing is happening now. Don't get me wrong, I wrote all my Senators, Congressman, Pres, and said get Osama in Afghanistan, but Iraq's not our fight. But, we are there so let's kick ass, BUT the politicians are once again losing it with their habitual lying. Of course they want us to be "peacekeepers" and "nation builders" and all that crap. Let's send in the politicians to do that political stuff, and see how they fare.
POINT IS: Europeans now say they now trust Al Jazeera (English) more than Fox. If we ever are in a position that our one country can't kick the whole world's ass, then who will come to our aid? This could develop into a big problem, long term, if integrity doesn't return to Washington.

Just the opinion of an Okie country boy. One of the Vietnamese Generals wrote a book recently and in it he had said that if we had continued to bomb Hanoi that we would have won, but they were able to sway public opinion and win the war that way.

Oh, I totally agree!! I *hate* it when people lie about the reasons we are in this war! Its so dishonest and un-American, it just goes against everything our troops are fighting for, and what America stands for. I just wish there could be some way to punish the biggest liars, you know?
Like.......impeachment. :D

Like I have stated before all wars are for one reason and that is $ we fought Japan for Oil in WWII you don't here anybody +++++ing about that We fought Spain and Mexico for monatary reasons hey even the Revolution was about $$$$$
