Hours ahead of the announcement of Castro's illness, President Bush called the Cuban's government a "tyrannical regime" in an interview with a Miami TV station.


"Our objective is to free the Cuban people," the president told WPLG. "That's our objective."


This guy...geez! Our objective is to rid the world of terrrorists and free Iraq and conquer Iran and destroy N. Korea and stop illegal immigration and after all that, we have an objective to free the Cuban people! I think there are much more pressing things going on in this country that needs to addressed before we worry about freeing the Cuban people.

I agree in theory, but our Govt. must keep a keen eye on Cuba at all times. No exceptions. They are only 60 miles from the Florida keys. I would say that proximity means that we should pay attention to any situation going on in Cuba.

If Fidel dies, you have to think that Cuba would make a nice little territory for the U.S. Put in some hotels, roads, and other infrastructure, and we have another nice little vacation spot for America. Plus good cigars!
