Should be the HK 416. Gas Piston fires forever. But not available to civilians(or even retirees).
Closest you can come will be Bushmaster but you will need to piece it together last I knew all you could buy was teh upper reciever. Think that will change soon and for about half what You would pay for a H&K.

Is this the rifle that is rod operated to keep the gases out of the breech? If it is I agree that it is a sweet weapon. Less chance of a jam than the M16.

Thats the one. Also the bolt stay cool even after unloading a couple a mags on full auto.
I need to look into Bushmaster to see what their will end up costing.

I've been reading around that they swap out the receiver of the HK with that of the M-4; would that basically make the M-4 function like the HK?
-I hope HK gets the contract, I'd love to use one of those.

You got that right. Nothing like taking the punch of something like the 240G, adding an M4 stock, and being able to make it more man portable vs crew served. Almost Ramboish...lol

This is a M249 with a 6 point collapsable stock. The HK416 is just an HK version of the colt M16. It can also be fired in a 360 degree rotation!!

Here is a link to the HK site. I don't think the photo above is a HK416.
