So I had a brief argument with my brother this weekend. He claimed that I was a freak because I put my hands in the sleeves 1st and then pull the shirt over my head instead of pulling the shirt over my head then putting my arms through the sleeves. So hence this stupid poll

I put my arms in first, is there any other way?

I find it easier to put my arms through the sleeves first. I can't imagine the other way would be easier.

Gunga55,

Not wanting to sound judgemental, but your brother sounds like a f*cking idiot. Who cares how one puts a shirt on... and what about sleeveless shirts, does he have a strong opinion on that, too?

SF,

Pogh

There are reasons for both. I do both. It depends on teh situation.
If I already did my hair or put deoderant on (like changing from one shirt to another) I put my head in first, stretching the collar out wide so to not mess up the gel. Same goes for the deoderant. I do not want to get the stuff all over my shirt, so I put in my head using above method, and tuck my arms to my chest, in essence covering my already deoderized pits, and pull the shirt over. Once over, I can untuck my arms and put them in the sleeves, leaving no residue from the deoderant on the outside of the shirt.

However, if I just put on a clean shirt, I have been known to put in the arms first and pull the dang shirt over my head. Then on goes the Old Spice.

However part 2, a button up shirt solves this quandry completely.

well it all started because when I dress my nephew I have him put the sleeves on 1st and then he can pull it over his head. I think maybe when I was young I did the head 1st but struggling to find the arm hole and cramping your arms up to shove them up your shirt just seemed wrong.

Ahh, when dressing someone else, like my 3 year old, I always put the head in first.

Reminds me of an "All in the Family" episode when Archie Bunker's telling Meathead that he was putting on his shoes the wrong way. Meathead first put on both socks and then each shoe while Archie said that was stupid in case there was a fire, he'd have to go through it with just socks on, so he should put one sock on then the shoe and repeat the process with the other foot.

Just to f*ck with the laws of nature, I put on my socks, shoes and shirts different ways every time, just to make things interesting.

Pogh

Thats where that is from. I think about that once in a while when I actually decide to wear socks and couldn't remember where it was I heard that. Thanks Larry
