I don't know how Alito is going to be. Honestly, I get a better feeling from the newly appointed Roberts

Did anyone see that South Dakota passed a law making abortion illegal in all cases except when the mother's welfare is in jeopardy.
This is a result of Alito and Roberts being appointed to the Supreme Court. It will be challenged I am sure and they will be required to make a ruling at the Supreme Court in regards to Roe v. Wade. They may take away the woman's right to choose when it's all said and done.
My feelings on abortion is that I don't like it and think that it should be against the law. However, not being a women doesn't really give me a say in the matter, at least that is what I have been told from many women that I have spoken to on this subject.
Way to go George! You may have taken away the women's right to choose by your nominations. Congress, you are by far not off the hook. By allowing nominees that have been so far right onto the Supreme Court, you share in this mess.

I thought this was a "what do you think of Alito" thread, not a bash Bush thread?

Oh sorry...got lost in the tangent but Alito's nomination went through Bush so it was hard not to tie them together. Alito and Roberts have made their views on abortion well known. With what is happening in SD, they now has the ammunition to overturn Roe v. Wade. I liked Alito when he was nominated but I am not sure that I liked him so much because of the previous person that was nominated was so much not the right person.
Do you think that as a result of Alito being in his position and the current law in SD, will Roe v. Wade be changed in any way?

It will probably come down to a state level decision.
