Yes the 5.8 % increase in our monthly benefits this January was the largest increase since 1982.
This increase in the disability compensation, dependency and indemnity compensation, for the year of 2009 does match the cost of living adjustments in Social Security and in the Military Federal Civilian retired pay. 2008 increase was just 2.8 % .
In years past, all increases were rounded down to the next lowest whole dollar.
This increase is a big help to all veterans receiving compensation for disabilities that were incurred or made worse while serving in the Military.

It sure suprised everyone here, that $11.00 a month, a few times in a row, sucked for my friend. This years was much better-$37.00 a month. Mine jumped $62.00, and I cant quiet figure theur %'s, none are quiet the same.
The question I have is what is next year going to be like?????

Yes Rusty they are still playing catch up as I am still at the same rate as last year yet, even found out they are and have been withholding money since 2006 for no reason for some offset , so I have then auditing my records they started out at $300, and now it is around $595.00 per Month, since 2006 , they tell me they should have it worked out soon, I hope so, that cash would come in handy. I will give them some time before I contact my 17 th District Congressman.

Ha!, they got you too! They are witholding from me for child:banghead:support from '95 to '07, this is even AFTER I got custody in '95, and proved it with court records. She was claiming them and collecting welfare for them, I worked and , well you know the way it goes, raise kids and have to pay double..........plus they tagged me for school loans on the other ex-wife, and my stuff that the Montgomery GI Bill was susposed to cover
:grouphug:
GI:Gastrointestinal.
Covers it well.
$941.00 + wife's, and monthly dividends(Vicodin:schilder017:stock??),. Good thing the house is paid for,the 1990 Plymoth, the convertible(Chrysler of course), all we do is pay for elec, and etc + taxes.
Sam might not be my real Uncle. He does not like lawyers, nor nosey Congressmen/women, Governors, and those who should not tread on the financial reasoning of the Social Security Dept, or military retirement, and even worse-the Railroad pension thingy.
Good luck and happy hunting, I've been doing this since Feb.-'02. Not one confirmed kill.

The sad part about all of this is they were paying the mother directly then stopped because the child reached the age of 19, and and not only that he was dropped from school for lack of attending he missed all or part of 24.5 days of school, and according to the School that showed a lack of desire to graduate. And I have a letter to prove that fact. So if they want to fight me on this I will take them on with guns blazing. this child is also now a father of one. and the mother of his child is married to some one else who is in jail and she is 25 years old, he was only 18 at the time he got her pregnant.
