HOUSEHOLD 6 (Life as a Military Wife)

My every day challenges about life as a military wife and the obstacles that a lot of us face trying to not only hold down the fort, but also raise a family while our spouse serves in the Military.

  1. I hate Military contracted doctors

by on April 16, 2010 at 04:12 PM (HOUSEHOLD 6 (Life as a Military Wife))
I know hate is a strong word, but I feel strongly about this! I hate Military civilian doctor's (not service members who are doctor's in the Military, but the civilian contractors that the Military hire). I have had nothing but bad experiences with them (other than the one and only pediatrician to ever listen to me about my youngest son). I had a gallbladder that was going "bad". I lived in pain for 2 years, spent many nights in the hospital and countless visits to these so called "doctors". The ...

  2. Loving this Spring weather!

by on April 6, 2010 at 01:12 PM (HOUSEHOLD 6 (Life as a Military Wife))
Spring is here and we are loving every minute of it. We went to the farm this past weekend (my Mom's house in West Virginia up in the mountains). Rode some 4 wheelers and did some target shooting. I finally got to shoot my new shot gun and Jerry got to sight in his new rifle. I shot that too! LOL.

My husband saw a side to me that he has not seen before. I know that now as an adult and mother I seem like a girly girl, and the last thing this girly girl would know how to do is any kind ...
  3. Writing for Examiner.com now

by on March 20, 2010 at 08:16 PM (HOUSEHOLD 6 (Life as a Military Wife))
Things around here have been going wonderful. My husband hasn't had a PTSD episode in over a month!!!! I have been keeping him busy and I know how hard he is working on himself. He is trying to tame a beast that most can't no matter how hard they try. So I am very proud of him, he is doing a wonderful job off kicking its butt!

So I have started writing for Examiner.com as the Baltimore Military Marriage Examiner. http://www.examiner.com/x-41038-Balt...riage-Examiner ...
  4. PTSD: You sneaky lil devil you!

by on March 12, 2010 at 09:24 AM (HOUSEHOLD 6 (Life as a Military Wife))
Wednesday was a somewhat odd day for me. It started out what I thought was great. I had applied for a position at the Examiner several weeks ago and found out yesterday that I got it! So you can image how estatic I was. I sent my hubby a text to call me (making sure I put in there that it was really good new). So he called I told him and all I got was an "oh" (you could hear the disappointment as he apparently thought it was something else). Not really encouraging to me at all and it hurt me pretty ...
  5. PTSD: The road to recovery

by on March 10, 2010 at 12:11 AM (HOUSEHOLD 6 (Life as a Military Wife))
Well Jerry had his first appointment through MilitaryOneSource tonight. It went well. I must admit that I am a lil leery just for the fact that this is all being done on-line and I don't believe this counselor can understand just how bad things can get with him by just reading some typing on the screen.

I am happy though and proud of him for taking this step. It IS better than nothing and right now this is all that he can do considering he is not allowed time off to see one in person. ...
