My soon to be JV bf

Tim and I are now offically bf/gf. Tim has decided to go JV and join the Army. It will be a few months before he heads to Basic, but I'm already not looking forward to it. Soldier's gf in wartime...geee wiz. Tim is stilltrying tofigure out rather he wants to be 11B (I believe that is the Army Eqivalant of 0311) or a communications MOS. I told him to get under the delayed entry program so he wouldn't have to go to basic for a yr and could prepare himself and he might want to pick a MOS with a civilain eqivanlant cause he won't be a soldier forever. It will be a yr longer to wait before we marry cause I sure don't want to marry him andh e not be able to join the military cause we're married. Ifi t was about me, I'd say he not join at all in wartime but it is not about me. It is about my country. Tim really wants to serve so, I won't do anything to get in the way of that. Looks like I will soon be part of the JV team but, I will ALWAYS have a place in my heart for the Marines.

It doesn't matter which branch of the service one serves his Country in, the point is that they want to be a part of making this Country a better place by keeping us safe and free. Be proud of him and know that he will be in our thoughts and prayers, for continued safety throughout his tour of duty and beyond. Congratulation's to you both, and I wish you both happiness together, always

A little bit of advice about the JV team, you might want to tell him to not go 11 Bang Bang (thats what we all call it). They get picked on by everyone in the Army due to most of them cannot make it into any other MOS because their scores were too low. And I am just going off of what all the Soldiers tell me here, not knowing first hand. If you get what I am saying. Not trying to be rude, its just the way everyone else on the JV team looks at the 11 Bravo's.

In saying that if he wants to do something in Communications, he stands a lot better chance of being able to carry that over to a civilian career then to be infantry.

yeah I told him that his best bet is to get into something with a civilian eqvilant cause hey he's not always gonna be in the Army but I let him know it is his choice and b/t him, his country, and the Army so I won't get in the way of that. I love them(Tim and my country) both so, I will proudly call Tim my soldier regardless of what MOS he chooses. Last I heard, he is still bent on going 11B and to spite how it terrifies me I'm not saying nothing more to him about changing. I know why he's willing to give all he can for his country and that alone makes me feel so proud of him. Rather he goes into the infantry or communications or something else, I will be proud to call him my man, my soldier, my lover. Oh, I back yall from vacation
