Fort Lee civilian employee files bias complaint

FORT LEE, Va. — Fort Lee officials say they are investigating a discrimination complaint filed by a civilian employee.

The post responded Thursday after the Virginia State Conference of the NAACP accused the military of widespread racial discrimination against civilian workers and contractors.

The civil rights group said it has been “inundated with complaints” of cronyism and an old-boy network since the worker’s complaint was filed.

A spokesman for the base acknowledged the NAACP’s advocacy on behalf of the worker, but said he could not comment further because of an ongoing investigation.
