I was working on the angle that we always get the beat up hand-me-downs that do not work for the other branches, but still manage to fair well with them...

Yeah, it doesn't make sense that if they are still combat ready, why they would be sent anywhere.

I do not think I saw 1 lick of brand new equipment when I was in the line company. The only "new" stuff I saw was people just joining the fleet.

No doubt. Even my skivvies were second hand in boot camp. I think because the laundry recruits did not have time to pay attention to names...
