    Question Boot Camp Rifle Qual

My daughter is at MCRD PI and she is in week 7, Fire Week. Today, Thursday, is Pre-Qual and tomorrow is Qualify Day. Can anyone shed some light on what the qualifications are?

    190-219 marksman
    220-224 sharpshooter
    225 and up expert

I believe these are right. The actual qualification is as follows:
    200 yd line
5 shots sitting, 5 shots kneeling, 5 shots standing in 15 minutes
10 shots standing to sitting in 70 seconds

    300 yd line
5 shots sitting in 5 minutes
10 shots standing to prone in 70 seconds

    500 yd line
10 shots prone in 10 minutes

I think those are all right, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong

Question Re: Boot Camp Rifle Qual

Thanks Marine4life. My daughter sent a letter last week saying she was on crutches and having a bone scan. I called her Recruiter and he was able to get in touch with her on Tuesday to find out that she was off the crutches and continuing with her training. Do you have any idea if the Fire Week training would be effected by a "mild" physical ailment like this? I'm hoping she isn't going to be delayed in her training or qualifying.

If she's off the crutches and is full duty she shouldn't be delayed. If it's a persistent problem, then the possibility is there of her going to MRP

She is strong, positive, and very determined! Her Recruiter said she sounded very motivated when he talked to her. She was very hyped because they won Initial Drill and she has been picked as a RCT artist to help make a flag for the SDI and PMI. I believe she will do fine. I am very proud of her!

Well I wish her the best of luck. Any idea what job she'll be doing?

Her Recruiter talked her into doing Accounting because her test scores were so high. She originally was going into Aviation Logistics but she gets a 10K bonus for having signed up for Accounting and leaving for boot camp 2 weeks early.

Sounds like a good deal. I personally think she should have done what she wanted to. I'm a believer in doing something like what you would like to do in the civilian world

Fully 100% agree, joines Feb 1974, to this day I am still doing what I joined the Marines for. Did have a few years out of my field, but know feel I'm home again. Mech Heavy equipment. Instead of repairing them I now build them.

depending on how hurt she is, the shooting positions may aggrivate her condition
