Re: How to spot a Phony SEAL

P.S. Shortly after the 9-11 attacks the idea of converting a Trident Sub into a delivery vehicle for seal teams was kicked around. We had 12 Trident Subs and with the Nuke reduction agreement signed we were suppose to take 2 off line and that is fine, we really don't need but 6 and they can distroy the world. Any way money was set to the side to take one of the Trident subs and cut the missle silos out (24 of them) and you would have room for over 200 men and supplies plus the Sub crue...For those people who have not seen a trident sub, they are massive...If you ever travel down I-95 stop at the last exit in Ga, right before you go into Fla, and follow the signs to Kings Bay Sub base, it's less then 10 miles after you get off the interstate, Its worth the 1 hour it will take to maybe get a look at one of these bad boys..Drive past the entrance to the base (1 mile) and turn into a public boat ramp, from there you can probably catch a look at them, they bring them up the river there and pass right by, you can not drive down to the piers on base to see one, you have to pass through 3 security check points and with out the right security badges you want make it past the first one, the best chance is to see one from off base.
One of these converted over would make an excellant delievery vehicle for special ops and a whole lot cheaper then building a new one just for that. The cost of a Trident was over 1 billion each and there not that old. They are the reason the min-man silos were filled in with Concrete, just really no need for them, the Tridents can deliever more then enough to take care of any one.

Re: How to spot a Phony SEAL

After making the above post i thought i should check to make sure on the latest for the Trident Conversion,..Well things have changed some what. They are going to convert 4 Trident subs and that is good, they will be set up to carry 60-106 speical ops personnel with up to 154 Tomahawk cruise missiles ( the subs are huge) plus they will be equipped for A.S.D.S. Advance Seal Delivery systems, (mini-subs) plus operational control centers, seperate from the subs operational controls...
These Subs can and rountinely stay under for 5-6 months, this will give the seal teams the ability to be pre-stationed in various locations off shore and to strike in a few hours notice, there was even mention of ariel planes, that being the case i guess there thinking is to surface and launch those prediator drones from the deck and the decks of the Tridents would be long enough to launch them, depending on the load there carrying..(how many hell fire missiles..
Having 4 of the subs carrying that many special ops personnel is a great idea, why put these subs in the bone yard when there is such a need for them and what better way to have the teams pre-stationed in various locations. a lot better then having to fly them for 8-20 hours and then getting them ready for what ever operation they are needed for...Super..
Any one wanting to read about this needs only to do a search on (Trident Subs) and you will find the Conversation plans, interesting reading to say the least.

    Think about it!!
Any one claiming to be a current seal will know about these programs . One question to them in regards (how are the Fast attack subs coming along for Seal use), if they answer fine, good, in use, you know there full of it...Its Trident Subs.

Exactly ! With out starting an arguement with them...If there current they would surely know about this, 4 Tridents fitted for this is nearly 1/5 of there entire unit, based on currently levels of a little over 2000.
