Charles Wendell "Chuck" Colson
Cheif Counsel for President Richard Nixon
Author
Public Speaker

Colson was born in Boston in 1931 and earned his B.A. from Brown University and his J.D., with honors, from George Washington University. Colson served in the Marine Corps from 1953 to 1955.

In 1969, Colson was appointed as Special Counsel to President Nixon. Colson also became involved in the Committee to Re-elect the President (CRP). Known as President Nixon's hatchet man, he once bragged, "I’d walk over my own grandmother to re-elect Richard Nixon." At a CRP meeting on March 21st, 1971, it was agreed to spend $250,000 on "intelligence gathering" on the Democratic Party. Colson and John Ehrlichman appointed E. Howard Hunt to the White House Special Operations Unit (the so-called "Plumbers"). Colson organized the Plumber's burglary of Daniel Ellsberg's psychiatrist's office in September 1971. Colson hoped that revelations about Ellsberg could be used to discredit the anti-war left.

Barry Corbin

Born: In Lamesa, Texas

Spent 2 years in the Marine Corps after attending Texas Tech University where he studied Drama.

He currently lives with his daughter and three grandchildren on their ranch in Fort Worth, Texas.

The following was submited by a viewer to our site:

At 21, Barry left the university to join the Marine Corps on a hangover and a friend's dare. "We went in together", says his brother Blaine. "I worried about him. He wasn't the military type at all". Barry spent about two years at Camp Pendleton in California, training South Vietnamese officers.

With no plans to abandon the Lone Star state, Barry joined the Marine Corps Reserve in March 1962. He was initially attached to the 40th Rifle Company at Lubbock, and he entered recruiting as a member of the 3d Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. After completing his training in June of that same year he was ordered to N Company, 2d Battalion, 2d Infantry Training Regiment, Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton. He stayed there until he was released from active duty in September.

Barry remained in the Marine Corps Reserve, rejoining the 40th Rifle Company in Lubbock as an assistant Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) man.He was discharged from the Reserves in August 1963.

Barry still maintains that although he never left California, much less saw any action, his Marine Corps training has served him well in both his public and private pursuits.

After his discharge, Barry returned to Texas to pursue his dreams and started acting in regional theatres.
