Joined the Marine Corps on August 13, 1956. Served three years in the Marine Corps from 1956-1959 as an infantry rifle instructor and earned the Welterweight Boxing Championship while stationed on Okinawa.
NCAA Welterweight Champion in 1960.
He became a boxing referee in 1964 and became most well-known for his decision against Mike Tyson during the Holyfield fight when Tyson bit Holyfield's ear. He graduated law school in 1970; became a trial prosecutor in 1971; worked as chief deputy sheriff and special prosecutor from 1979-1982; District Attorney from 1982-1990; District Judge from 1990-1998. Since 1998 he has appeared in his own courtroom television series, Judge Mills Lane.

"Jim Lehrer was born in Wichita, Kan. in 1934. He is a graduate of Victoria College in Texas and the University of Missouri. After three years as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps, he worked for ten years in Dallas as a newspaperman and then as the host of a local experimental news program on public television.

He came to Washington with PBS in 1972, teaming with Robert MacNeil in 1973 to cover the Senate Watergate hearings. They began in 1975 what became The MacNeil/Lehrer Report, and, in 1983, The MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour, the first 60-minute evening news program on television. When MacNeil retired in 1995, the program was renamed The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. "

Alfred Lerner

Born: May 8, 1933
Died: October 23, 2002

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Lerner made extremely generous contributions to local and national charities, served as president and trustee of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, reestablished a National Football League team in Northern Ohio when he purchased the expansion Cleveland Browns football organization in 1998, served as founder, chairman, and chief executive of MBNA Corporation, served as vice chairman, trustee, and benefactor of Columbia College, helped raise funds, through his affiliation with MBNA and the Cleveland Browns, for the `Cleveland Browns Hero Fund', and was appointed in 2001 by President Bush as 1 of 15 members of the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board.

Lerner served as a Marine Corps officer and pilot from 1955 to 1957. He displayed his love for the Corps long after his time in by wearing a Marine Corps cap, and was later a director for the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation.

Marine pilot As vice-chairman and president of Chrysler he is largely credited with their revitalization during the company's second turnaround in the 1990's; he retired from Chrysler in 1998 to take over Exide.
